The Capital Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association and the Maryland Hang Gliding Association will hold their 12th Annual McConnellsburg Hang Gliding and Paragliding Festival on September 18th and 19th, 2004, in south-central Pennsylvania. Proceeds will benefit the McConnellsburg PA rescue squad.

A Just-For-Fun XC contest (with medals to the top three teams, and trophies to the top three in the individual standings), spot-landing and flour bomb-drop contests, a kite giveaway for kids, static display, and Saturday night cook-out and raffle are among this year's events. It really is a blast, for novice and experienced pilots alike!

If you're looking for something to do in Region IX, after the big Labor Day weekend and while the fall flying season is still at its peak, then the Festival is where you want to be! Friendly, 30-mile wide valley over the back, with LZs everywhere. About 1hr 40min from the Washington DC area.
