Highland Aerosports Donates Tandems, Solos, and Blue-Eye Goggles For 2002 Festival!

Chad Elchin and Sunny Venesky of the Highland Aerosports hang gliding flight park on the Eastern Shore of Maryland are continuing their support of our hang gliding festival and the McConnellsburg Rescue Squad through a donation of one 2500' tandem flight, five 2500' solo aerotows, and a pair of 'Blue-Eye' goggles, with a combined value of $290!

The tandem can be used by a pilot who needs a checkout flight, for instructional purposes by a pilot-in-training, or as an introductory ride by someone who would like a taste of what hang gliding is all about (and then possibly become a pilot-to-be!). What a great way to show a family member or a friend the freedom of the skies that we all enjoy so much!

The solo aerotows are for use by experienced aerotow pilots. Your next five yanks will be free!

And the Blue-Eye googles will be perfect when you're scanning the sky for haze-domes on your next flight at Highland. Here's a site with some Blue-Eye product info.

For those who don't know about tandems: You and an instructor are towed to 2500' by an ultralight, in a double-size glider, from a grass runway. The instructor can handle all phases of the flight, from liftoff to landing. Flight duration is typically 15 minutes, but if thermals are about you could luck into a longer ride. You'll probably get a chance for some "hands-on" fun once you've released from the tug, by trying some gentle turns and speed changes.

This is the fourth straight year that Chad and Sunny have supported our Pilot Raffle. So let them know how much we all appreciate their continuing support the next time you see them!
