Richard Hays is donating a $1000 discount off the retail price of any new Wills Wing glider purchased from the Maryland School Of Hang Gliding.
So, let's do the math: A new Ultrasport goes for $3975. Minus $1000. Equals... a huge chunk-o-change, woohoo! This will probably sell a few raffle tickets, eh? ;-)
Since our festival is a fund-raising event for the McConnellsburg Rescue Squad, Richard wanted to do something that would raise the excitement level and encourage more people to register.
Given the fund-raising aspect, Richard has stipulated that the discount has no cash value, and that it must be redeemed within one year. The discount can, however, be transferred to another person if the winner has no plans to purchase a glider within that time. The discount does not apply to shipping and handling charges.
In addition, the glider purchased cannot exceed the skill level of the pilot. Using Wills gliders as an example:
Other Gliders: The discount can also be applied to purchase of a Moyes or Northwing glider. However! Richard has crunched the numbers only for the Wills Wing case. So the amount of the discount might be less than $1000, depending on the exact dealer invoice. But it will probably still be in the same ballpark.
Major Caveat: The details of this offer are subject to change without notice. If the pricing structure from Wills Wing (for example) changes significantly, then the dollar value of the discount might have to be reduced, at Richard's discretion.
Finally, I may require that the winner be a hang-glider pilot, or a pilot's friend or family member. Spectators often buy raffle tickets; this prize has to make its way to someone who actually flies.
