Many of the waivers that must be completed before flying at sites in the Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania areas are available on this page. So are miscellaneous forms relevant to Region IX contests, Fly-ins, and Incident Reports.
Your web browser's "Print" command should yield reasonably well-formatted versions of most of these documents. Please contact The Webmaster if you encounter any problems, would like to add a new form, or find an error.
Both of these waivers can be sent to the Treasurer (please visit the link for the current Treasurer's contact information) of the Capitol Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association
In addition to the waiver, pilots flying The Pulpit, Fisher Road, or
Bill's Hill must either purchase a
Pulpit Sticker or
join CHGPA
as a `Flying Member`, since the club pays for the
insurance of all three sites.
To fly at the sites in Shenandoah National Park, you must complete a Liability Release Form and a Special Use Permit Application. The release is available in PDF format, while the permit is available as a MS-Word file and in HTML format:
A PDF reader is needed to view and print the release. If you don't have one, you might want to download Adobe Acrobat from adobe.com
The Special Use Permit requires details about the LZs for the Shenandoah National Park sites. Just write "ON FILE" in large letters across the three areas where this information is requested. You must send the release, the SUP application, a photocopy of your USHGA membership card, and your check to the address listed at the bottom of the permit application. After processing, the National Park Service will send you two copies of your permit; you must then sign and return one of those copies.
Both the launches and the LZs for the Shenandoah sites are fairly technical.
Do not fly them without the guidance of a pilot who knows them well.
After printing out, completing, and signing the waiver for the Taylor training hill, you can bring it with you to the site and place in the mail box by the parking area, or you can mail it to: Laura S. Taylor; P.O. Box 152; King George, VA 22485

As of January 2003 this waiver's status is unclear. We have yet to
determine if any particular club has overall responsibility for
Jack's Mountain, and needs to have these waivers on file. If you
happen to know, please contact CHGPA.
